A sea shell in my pocket

A sea shell in my pocket
Ocean breeze in my hair
Waves breaking on the shore
Song in my heart
                   - SHarley

Those words were written by me, and are engraved on my newest piece of "Window Art". Soft greens and blues, iridescent glass, and some clear glass with ridges....all grouted with a sandy colour of grout.

A bit more polishing, and it will be ready to go....hopefully to a nice little shop in Mahone Bay.

this is how it looks with the light shining through...the grout lines look black with the sun coming from behind

keep it simple

I should have used a different depth of field with this photo, to get all of the alliums in focus
These days...when I have my camera in hand...I find myself drawn to simple subjects and muted  colour pallets. Sometimes I focus on one subject, with lots of space. Sometimes, I like simple lines like these photos. These 2 photos were my favourite shots from a short visit to a garden with a friend and his wife.

Lazy days of summer

We were away enjoying a cottage in Malagash, Nova Scotia last week. We used the cottage as our base as we toured the northern part of Nova Scotia. I'll share some photos after I sort through them.

Yesterday our thermometer hit 38 degrees (celcius....that's 100F for my American friends). Just. Too. HOT! This morning the critters were out in Purgatory (our screened in porch) before the temperatures started to soar. A lazy bunch. There are several shots of Myrtle (our cat)...she has several spots she likes to try out.

Take Hold Of The Oars

I'm ordering a new set of inspirational postcards...this time in a larger size. I've simplified my "Take Hold Of The Oars" saying a bit...and have a couple of different photos I'm considering. Which one do you like?

Or maybe the original photo is best?
original photo with revised wording
As always, your advice is appreciated! (hopefully by Thursday when I order the cards)
