i dig garlic

We started growing garlic for the first time last year. Rather, we planted our first crop in the fall of 2010 and harvested it in the summer of 2011. We decided to grow our own garlic because the grocery stores around here only carry garlic from China.
Our friends Jack and Karen brought us some organic garlic from Ontario when they visited, and I saved some of the cloves and planted them. Easy peasy...we had a crop of our own!
I was afraid the crop wouldn't be very good this year, because we have had a drought all summer long. The bulbs aren't as large as last year, but we have quite a good crop....enough to keep us going for 12 months and for sharing too :)
