A Perfect Day

Since we moved here one year ago, we had often heard about Carter's Beach. Unfortunately, Carter's is not listed on the Nova Scotia map, or in any of the PR materials we had. I found out recently that Carter's is "past Liverpool", so on Thursday we headed out with the two dogs to find it.

We timed our departure so that we could lunch in Liverpool. Actually, the timing was unintentional, but it worked out well :) We lunched at the Woodpile Cafe, an interesting combination of wood carving studio, art gallery, and lunch cafe. Lovely food! Yum. We got directions to Carter's Beach from the Tourist Information in Liverpool, and had no trouble finding it.

Once we arrived, I thought it was a very good thing that the beach isn't on the map. It's a hidden jewel, and one we'd like to keep a secret. The pictures will tell the story of an absolutely gorgeous afternoon....white sand, turquoise waters, deserted beach, lots of sand dollars to find, and dogs who had a very good run!
Today is rainy, and nothing like our day at the beach. But it will be a great day for working with my stained glass and maybe completing a window I've been working on!

I haven't been to Carter's Beach in years. Someone else drove, so I guess I'll have to ask for directions. Have to go soon -- before the sunbathers fill up all the spaces.
